La première neige

This painting captures a small stretch of river in the Belgian Ardennes – a place with charm in every season, but almost fairytale-like in winter. As the first snow begins to fall, the landscape takes on a quiet stillness that evokes old stories and legends. The vast, once-impenetrable forests of the Ardennes have long been the setting for books and myths. In this work, I aimed to capture that quiet sense of magic.
