Nyx – Goddess of the Night
In a book of ancient myths, I read about Nyx (or Nox), the Greek goddess of the night. The charcoal drawing that accompanied the story didn’t speak to me — I had a very different image in mind.
In my imagination, Nyx wears an endless gown — or rather, her cloak is the night itself. As she spreads it over the earth like a blanket, stars fall gently from the fabric.
In this painting, I’ve given her my own vision: silent, powerful, and wrapped in the infinite night.
