Twisted

Twisted– Light in Turbulent Times

This is a large, almost square painting, framed with a robust handmade frame featuring gold leaf details. It depicts a collection of antique objects, including the large berkemyer from which a lemon falls. The lemon symbolizes beauty on the outside, yet sourness on the inside – a reflection of how life can be at times.

Bread flies through the air, and fish swim by, while the 17th-century tin plate holds an important place in the still life. The painting is executed in a classical style, with light at its core, yet portrayed in a way that is far from neat and orderly. The work invites interpretation and serves as an expression of my intuition during turbulent times, where light plays a symbolic role.
