2017 – Oil paint on panel – 121 x 92 cm

Sseveral times on one of the Frisian Islands, Schiermonnikoog, I saw these marshy places with short, crooked birches. It produced a somewhat spooky atmosphere just after the winter. Somehow, this picture kept fascinating me. After waiting for a couple of years, I finally decided to create this painting.
