Project Description

Slaughtered Ox

Oil on beechpanel – 95,5 x 66,8 cm

I made this work by Rembrandt on commission, as well as the original on beech panel. The last transparent reds (carmine) are special, which are applied in the same way as, for example, the Jewish Bride. We have chosen to have a real typical 17th century frame made as opposed to the presumably non-original frame in the Louvre.
