Gerbera

This still life features a gerbera seemingly floating above a 17th-century plate, presented in an unconventional square format. The flower hovers in the air, giving the composition a surreal touch, while the plate, with its classical appearance, hints at the past.

Though the square format is not typical of classical still lifes, it plays with tradition by combining the classic setting with the unexpected, almost magical element of the floating flower. The work balances between the familiar and the innovative, uniting the old and the new in a surprising way.

The frame is handcrafted and adorned with gold leaf, enhancing the classical feel of the work while gracefully embracing the modern subject.
