Oil and gold on canvas 80 x 100 cm

From the train I saw small farms almost swallowed by the large supermarket warehouses when I traveled from Utrecht to The Hague.  I painted this inspired by the view and she’s crying inside.  Symbolism for all the ugliness in the world.

As I showed earlier, I wanted to work more often with gold, in this case 23.75 karat.  I also provided the frame with gold leaf and decoration myself.  The lower part in particular is painted almost exclusively with the pallet knife.
