The surrender is the final assignment of “Project Rembrandt”. Broadcast in 2019 on the NPO and exhibited in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, during the exhibition “Long live Rembrandt”.

When I got to the final of Project Rembrandt I got the very last assignment, making a work with several people. I painted the subject because it is about closing things off if you want to go on. I deliberately painted young and old like this here. Also my own need for changes back then. This gave me a second place and a great honor that I got this far in the TV program!
